How did copperknob go from dancers that meet in church basements, YMCAs, and recreation centers sharing dances among themselves to professional dancers prancing through routines that might work on a stage before an audience but nowhere else?

Good choreography is music-driven, and this is a perfect example of talented choreographers writing steps that fit what dancers are hearing. I live in and teach in an over-55 community where many students and most instructors are 70 or older. Another instructor and I were just discussing this dance, and decided it's definitely do-able in our classes. Some instructors and students here go to events where this dance will be taught and done every evening. We are keeping our brains active by learning new dances that challenge us. Some of US have left the basements and moved to the stage.

67 years old, love this dance!!! Our over 67 years old intermediate class is having a blast with this one!
