First 16 counts of this dance originated in the early to mid 1970's - it was NOT called Macerena then.

Isnt it brillant to be able to revive a part of very old style to a newer look We enjoy this new look

Yes it is danfan. Sadly no one knows who choreographed the the first 16 counts. Though a South American claimed she did in 1993 or 4. Same happens with many old dances that are 'unkown'.. some person comes along to claim it to 5 minutes of stardom.. like ric sliver and The Electric Slide.
Great way to get seniors active and have fun.
