Where's the video?? I don't teach any dance without a video. I don't know why choreographers do not do videos - makes it much easier to teach and my students can practice the dance at home.

The dance is Complete Beginners and any dance teacher should be able to read the script without a dance video. I would never throw away a script simply because the Choreographer has maybe not had time to get a video done as there will always be someone who will take the dance and make a video for you. I am from the old school where we had to learn new dances directly from the script and I would only use a video as a resource tool but not the first time I have saw dance video's do not match the dance script. I have a new complete Beginners class and the dance is suitable for them without it being to complicated.

Hi Karen - I still feel the same as before. There are so many dances with videos and I prefer to teach them.

I teach from script I find I learn the dance properly then step by step. Sometimes dancers in the video put their own styling on the dance which could cause slight confusion whereby if you learn from script it’s proper step by step. Just my opinion

All good points and thank you for your input - appreciate it.

Also I have seen bad videos that do not do the dance justice. One other thing I will say is this. If you are someone who Choreographes dance please remember that to be able to write a dance script is in itself an art form. Without the script other people cannot produce dance videos until a Choreographer has produced the script. Both go hand in hand and repect goes to both who are talented to produce the tools we can use in Line Dancing.

Thanks everyone for your comments regarding my dance and line dancing in general - always prepared to listen to other peoples views and opinions - I don't normally do videos hoping that one of the professional groups will pick it up - but here goes have just uploaded a video of me dancing this AB dance - sorry it's a little dark but was filmed earlier this morning here in Spain indoors as it's almost 40 degrees today xxx

Jenny Brown has now done a dance video which is available on YouTube. I am going to be teaching this dance to my Tuesday class who have only been dancing 5 weeks and this dance is suitable for them.

Thank you - I really like the dance as it goes so good to the music and the step sheet is very easy to read - kudo's to the choreographer. I'll teach this dance (even without the video).

Thanks Sandue so glad you have decided to teach the dance - there is a lovely video now from Jenny Brown and her Team as well for you to take a look x

Videos are terrific. They help AB dancers practice. AB dancers are not so good at reading step sheets, even well written step sheets can make assumptions that an AB dancer will miss. I prefer a teach demo because my AB students can see how the dance steps look. Let's say dancers add their own styling, that's fine with me. It gives AB dancers a way to practice. The choreographer can recommend a particular video that they think best illustrates the dance. I appreciate videos for my AB students and it makes me much more likely to teach a dance. I have taught dances with and without videos. In most cases, the video helps my AB students a lot. Thank you Jules for the great dance and for the demo and teach videos!
