Thousands danced together in drizzling rain in Hangzhou city, East China’s Zhejiang province, Saturday morning, to set up a new Guinness World Record for largest line dance.
The participants, 25,703 in total, were spread across 18 locations in the city, and came from all walks of life from both China and abroad.
The previous record was set by 17,200 dancing together in Chungxiong, Southwest China’s Yunnan province, in 2009, according to the website of Guinness World Record.

The largest line dance (multiple venues) involved 25,703 participants and was achieved by China Line Dance Sport Promotion Center (China) in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, on 8 November 2014.
The attempt took place in 18 venues.

The largest line dance was achieved by 17,200 participants in an event organised by Mouding County Tourism Administration in Chungxiong, Yunnan, China, on 22 April 2009
Left leg dance which is a traditional Chinese dance was performed during the attempt. The participants were dressed up in traditional left leg dance outfit.
