Most places dance this waltz with a forward basic and back basic (13-18), 1/4 turn L and back basic (19-24), 1/4 turn L and back basic (25-30), and a 1/2 turn L and back basic (31-36).

Here is a link to one of several YouTube videos for the version I described above, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WASDktUDSDU .

Just a short note to clarify the different versions of this dance in case there is any confusion. An American waltz partner version is published on CopperKnob as "The Flowing River Waltz". Jackie Clair later republished a solo version of "The Flowing River Waltz"—thank you, Jackie! The solo version describes steps from a variation of "The River Waltz" that appears to be the most common version, as reflected in the demo and teach videos.
