Diggin’ for Gold ~ Story of song by The Bushwackers
~2021 was the 50th. Anniversary Year; Inducted into the Roll of Renown at the Tamworth Golden Guitar Awards, Dobe Newton and Roger Corbett accepted the honour on stage and were humbled and thrilled to receive the accolade from the country music community. Dobe came to Roger with an idea about digging for gold, describing the quest to win another Golden Guitar. Roger turned this into a song with Liam Kennedy Clarke and Gabby Louise. Although it could easily be a colonial-style song about prospecting in the 1800’s, it is simultaneously the story of the journey through the country music world
