Directions in the last set need clarification. Heel, forward or heel, step together? Where's the turn? What's BF?

Far far too many steps for Beginner.

OLDSALTY April 13, 2019
Metaltigger normally I would agree with you but the first 32 counts are just the first two sections repeated . I took the rolling vine out of section five. Apart from the turning vines and the Monterey's which were steps I wanted to incorporate into our class time the rest was pretty darned easy and relevant to the track. So FAR FAR TOO MANY STEPS FOR BEGINNERS nope not in this case and it also has a healthy 40 votes which unlike the viewing numbers can't be rigged

OldSalty...
Doesnt matter about 'repeated' steps. Its the TOTAL steps the dancer has to remember.
You have to draw the line somewhere. And for all intents and purposes that line was put at 32-36 for Beginners in many of the (true-meat on the bone)level guidesout there - including the first.
Far too many Choreographers often forget when they were Beginners and the dances they learnt. They improve their skills over time - but Beginner are still Beginners.
And 40 Votes is NOT an indication they approve of the level.. but they approve of the dance.

... and I forgot to mention.. I quite like the dance.

I'm inclined to agree with OLDSALTY--considering the first 32 is so easy, the only issue for beginners is the kick-ball change, rocking chair and, possible the Monterey--but hey, I call a few of the steps until the dancers figure it out and wow--the smiles of accomplishment are priceless!! They can't believe that they have mastered a 96 count dance. It gets my 5* vote.

It's not a rank beginner dance, but it's certainly doable by seasoned beginners. My group loved it, and it was easy to build up to it by doing dances beforehand that incorporated most of the steps. I usually call the dance, so there's not much memory involved. You can always make minor adjustments as needed. I'm happy that the choreographers tried this. It's a fun dance and everyone loved it. Bravo.

Did it, dropped it. My instructor taught this in our improver class, and while we enjoyed it well enough, it was too much for many of the dancers even at that level. Since we weren't willing to do it every week for two months in order to cement it, we moved on.
