Love this dance but at about 1 minute, 53 seconds in the music, it needs a restart. I've been teaching it now for two weeks and started noticing it after the first teach but I thought maybe I skipped on of the 1/8 jazz box turns. It would probably be at Wall 8 with the K-step. My students love the dance and I'll keep teaching it with different music.

I don't mind you adding a restart. Whatever makes the dance more fun and easier for your dancers. My dancers are all Absolute Beginner senior dancers and they just dance to the song. The have not yet gotten so far in learning that they recognize a change in the music. Thank you for the comment. I hope that you have fun with the dance.

The line dancers I teach are also seniors. I'm teaching this dance to AB level. We all love the dance and the music but when they feel the music start over without a restart, I notice a slight hitch I will see if I can add a restart and if I find a good way to do it, I'll share with you. Thanks for replying and for the lovely teach video.

I found the following easy way to restart: after using the 1/8 jazz box turns to Wall 8, restart the dance with Section 1. I don't start on the first 4 counts--I start after the first 32 lyric counts. One restart makes the dance match the music and ends the problem of extra beats.

Thank you, Stayin Alive. I also have other dances that I have choreographed that should have restarts also, but my dancers don't notice the change in the music. They just want to socialize and dance without having to think to hard. lol. They sing with the music and just have a great time. Thank you for you effort, and I'm so happy that your class can now enjoy the dance with the restart to the song. It's a fun song!

I'll try out the restart with them today. A lot of wonderful AB line dances with fun music have restarts. My classes are a mix of inexperienced and experienced line dancers. Most are AB but are working their way up to Beginner. When they advance to higher levels of line dancing, they will need to know about tags and restarts. I had a line dance instructor/mentor who made me very sensitive to tags and restarts in music--how to listen for them and how to address them. But, I certainly understand your perspective. Because I have explained tags and restarts in the past, the line dancers in my classes are more sensitive to them. They love this dance. Actually the restart happens because one of the verses only has 24 counts on Wall 7 if you start the dance after the first 32 lyric counts (so it lacks 8 additional beats, that's the reason for the restart). My students say that my classes are fun. Because the community I live in has over 100 line dance classes ranging from AB, Beginner, Improver, Intermediate and Advanced line dance classes, my class serves as a feeder for moving to higher levels. I am a volunteer (meaning unpaid) and have two large line dance clubs. I'm dancing your dance in both clubs. It's a great dance because it goes to a lot of different music but I like Hubby in a Honky Tonk best. Thank you for giving me permission to add a restart.
