This is great choreography for beginners to learn a fast dance!

SherMcIntosh March 4, 2023
Thank you SIW....yes, without being too hard to grasp the choreography! Thanks for the positive encouragement!

anxious for you to teach us this in person, we are so fortunate to have you for our teacher. The dance is really nice and looks so easy to learn.

Thank you glog. You made my day! Next class, we'll do. Sher!

Since I’m having a hard time finding an AB dance that teaches sailor steps, I’ve been subbing the second set of triples for sailors in this dance. Hope you don’t mind. Thought it’d be ok since you suggested subbing for the behind-side-cross. Fun dance!

No I absolutely don't mind at all. I think you have to go, as an instructor, with what works for you and your group. If I alter anyone's choreo I always announce the alteration and explain why I'm doing it. (pivot turns = forget it with some seniors on medication and way too fast and dizzy!!, easier to do a Rocking Chair) But students are always aware of the original in case they dance that dance somewhere else. I often teach the choreo without the turns until the AB Dancers have it memorized, and tell them I'll turn them the next week, (or in 2 weeks)...whatever... I usually have a handful in each class that need the alteration, and usually for a medical reason. Thank you for chosing this choreography, and for leaving a message...-Sher-
