Five stars from me, great dance to a great track!

StephenM January 30, 2018
Why, when there already a beautiful dance to this song which is already in the intermediate linedancer charts.

Hans Palm January 30, 2018
StephenM, they are two completely different dances. This one by Ivonne and Roy is a dancer’s dance, excellent NC choreography on advanced level. The other one is not but they can attract dancers on different levels or with different tastes.

Karan Worgan February 1, 2018
I agree with StephenM. Upcoming choreographers are supposedly encouraged--then they are knocked down by a well known choreographers dance. We can see they are different but the one already in the charts is very smoothe and is perfect. Full stars to Val O'Connors. The latest release is too stiff and fussy in my opinion. Vals is also a dancers dance--hence why it rose in the charts to be 23rd. Obviously liked and loved. If Roys gets higher in the charts it's because his name is already well know

Dear Karen, normally I dont react on comments in general.
But I just want to say that we already made this dance for the CBA awards in SEPTEMBER. you can check that up with them.
So your comments are not really holding up strong.
I respect your opinion about the dance itself. But ours was already made before the other one that is the only thing im saying.
Regards Roy v

You don’t judge a dance by the track only. It’s the combination of track, choreography, character, level, personal taste etc. that is important. This new dance should not stop you from dancing Val’s dance, I don’t see what the problem is. And there’s still room for adding a couple of more dances to the same track. The comments are narrow-minded and petty in my opinion. The two dances attract different types of dancers so they can coexist. No choreographer can claim or own a track, anyone can submit a dance to copperknob. In my opinion this dance by Ivonne and Roy was the best dance taught at this year’s CBA, by far. But those who love Val’s dance can keep doing that.

Also, you should never down-vote a dance without a fair judgment based on that you've learned and mastered it. In this case you need to be a rather experienced dancer to appreciate the fast turning. If you have those skills you'll actually find that this choreography is smooth and fits perfectly to the music. There's nothing wrong with the other dance, it looks rather nice based on the Kyung Mi Kim video with dancers who have the dancing skills to do it justice. I wouldn't give it five stars though but I'm not going to down-vote it since I haven't danced it. Based on learning on average 100 dances per year my preference is Too Much Love Will Kill You by Ivonne and Roy, judged by the quality of the dance, not by the choreographers, the rating from others or the charts.

As the choreographer of the other dance I feel like I need to say something. I appreciate both good and bad comments. I choreographed mine as an unknown choreographer in July 2017 as I am a big Queen fan and had already done a dance to hammer to fall the previous year. This dance was taught at a weekend away in November 2017 especially for the dancers who attend classes I attend. I think the comment made about my dance not being a dancers dance upset some who had learned mine as they love it and were trying to support me.

Hans Palm February 1, 2018
My apologies then Val. I wrote the comment on my iPhone and it was a bit awkward. The "is not" actually referred to advanced level, or this was at least what I intended. If you go back to my first comment I just stated my appreciation of this dance. I really didn't understand why StephenM had objections on a new dance to the same track, this is very common and I think that this is great, dances for many tastes and levels! It also looked as though this dance was down-voted for being #2, not for it's a bad dance and I was a bit upset due to this. I understand that your dance is already danced a lot so you have been very successful as a choreographer! Still I think that anyone that finds inspiration for choreographing to a track shall do this, unknown or famous, even if another dance already exists to the same track. I may be wrong by I think most choreographers do it out of passion, not to be on the charts. And that creativity shall be rewarded, not punished.

I agree there is room , for 2 dances to the same piece of music, BUT as this dance was done at the crystal boots and by a well known choreographer , I suspect this will get more air play, than the other by Val.. I am a massive massive Queen fan and am surprised that there are 2 dances to a piece of music that is not a well known track, so in that respects I am thrilled.., but I love love love Val’s dance to to much love, as it flows lovely with the music... and in my opinion is more a dancers dance ..

What's the problem then zodie? Val's dance has probably already had its peak, being publish in November 2017. You can do a floor split and the fact that the new dance was done at CBA can mean many new opportunities for playing this track and doing floor splits with Val's dance. Isn't this great? Due to the fast turning and "advanced" in the new dance it will probably not attract the mainstream dancers so Val's dance may actually find more dancers just because the track will be played more often.

val58 February 2, 2018
Hans Palm thank you for your comment. I choreograph a dance when the music inspires me and although I would like others to dance it I am not one of those choreographers that aim to be high in the charts. If my dances are taught or danced by other dancers unknown to me then I am very thankful.
