Does it irritate anybody else when choreographers "claim" a song like this, without posting a sheet????

YUP---and January 2018 date--what IS the point????

YUP---and January 2018 date--what IS the point????

Metaltigger December 25, 2017
This type of 'claiming'(only by known (?) choreographers it seems), has been going on for quite a while. And whilst a video of the dance ONLY in the CK listing is one thing (though many see this as unfair as it allows the choreographer two bites of the cherry) Now a new precedent has been set with just the Soundtrack/music being allowed to come into the listing.

This is one issue--and, in my mind, just as important is the rating of difficulty for each dance--it seems to be left to the discretion of the Choreographer and, in so many cases, it has no real meaning.
I know the operators of this site work hard to provide us with a good platform for what we do and maybe I should just shut up but...................

Sassy Stepper December 28, 2017
Big question in my mind is how you can give this "dance" 4 stars when there is no video to watch and no step sheet to read and work through???? Are "you" voting on the music or are you privy to something the rest of us are not?

Keep on Dancin December 28, 2017
Strange--verrrrry strange ;)

Metaltigger January 1, 2018
Observation..
wheras it should be dropping down the 'charts' its seems now to be actually gaining enough views for it to stay on the 'front (top 20)page.
Question..
What happens when the dance script is finally released ? What happens to the 'non dancescript' version.

A strange conundrum indeed.

Oops now I am going to have to read these comments again a few more times. Off the teaching scene now but what a can of worms this is 4 less than pleased organisers here. Do You think you are going to get answers by commenting here (don't get cross I'm just asking) Why do we get so irksome when these situations arise.Could it be that we line dance teachers are so competitive that we have to be the first to teach everything. Me I'm just grateful that we have mega choreographers around that have the talent to create these dances. This Music/Dance stands out like a bright beacon and could it be Metaltigger that the reason it's now getting views (shock horror) is dancers are back after the holidays making genuine views and votes for this very promising dance by Dee Musk. Lighten up concentrate on bringing it too the dancers else we will all loose out. Hope your classes are rammed this year and you get recognition for all your hard work. Best Wishes Vicky X

Yes, I think you should read the comments again. The complaints both on here and in dance groups on FB and other were NEVER about the DANCE. They were about the fact that a dance 'title' with NO script and not even a DEMO suddenly appeared on the Copper Knob dance site. It was still in the Top 20 when the script was ADDED on January 4th.

Stokies January 11, 2018
Oooh Metaltigger I absolutly love it when people get passionate we need the passion I did read the comments over and over and I get it, boy did I get it. Good luck after all these comments made on FB and by the way you said it was never about this dance or any particular dance well you did make it kind of personal by submitting comments on this Dee's dance. I am on your side truly I agree things are'nt quite right with the views and voting on CK THEN TAKE IT TO THEM. And I ask you again what makes us so irate about this particular injustice Is it because we are so competative that we are cross cos we didn't get the chance of being the first to teach it. Teachers have nothing unless we have dancers to teach and quite frankly dancers don't give a damn with these issues. Please lets all get on with it Vicky xx

Dee So sorry I got side tracked.I commend you for your choice of music and your talent for penning this winning dance . My choice for teaching this stand out in a crowd dance was made in a heartbeat and I send my BEST WISHES nice job Thank You so much Vicky Wales UK

Stokies.. besides the fact that other people made comments before I, I will ask you to read my reply of January 10th. Dee Musk did NOT submit a dance. A dance with no step sheet and no demo is just a 'title', a non-dance. And for for getting personal.. again I reiterate I was not the 1st nor the 2nd person to make comment. Only one person could have sent the dance title (and soundtrack)in to Copper Knob for it to be listed .. and that was the Choreographer.
And by the way, being the first or the last to teach a dance has no bearing on this. As far as I can see its all been about 'fair play'.

Well I read your last comment Metaltigger and my thoughts were I'm done here, no point in me adding any more comment/fuel to this already ragging pointless fire. I thought initially it may have been teachers being impatient, seeing choreographs post only video's of the dance and having to wait for the script but what the hell So what if its now a set precedent that only the soundtrack/song is posted to an intended dance Claiming a song what the ... if You or anyone else loves that song and have the talent to pen a gorgeous dance then blinking well post it how can anyone claim a song. You doth protest too much and I am now thinking you may be a choreographer yourself and I suspect a brill one. Please don't make the mistake thinking there are teachers out there that aren't worth their salt to shallow or not skillful enough to sort the chaff from the wheat sometime in the future it will come back and bite you in the bum ...I am definitely done now I have ABSOLUTELY NO ULTERIOR MOTIVE DO YOU. don't bother answering that I am not coming back to read it .

Yikes--I agree with the original post, and do not like to see videos posted without step sheets. This seems like jumping the gun. George, it's your website and you make the rules, but I'd like to see a "rule" along the lines of no script, no video.

Everybody’s right! It annoys us all. Sort it out George!! X

Regardless of the above, this is a great dance to great music, one of Dee's best in my opinion
