I Live in Nottingham, in fact I was born in Nottingham, although I lived in Italy on the edge of beautiful Lake Como for a few years when I was younger.Dance has always been an important part of my life, being sent to the local ballet school by my mother at the age of 5, where I learnt ballet, tap, modern,jazz and character dancing. There were 4 classes a week and the teaching was very strict but the discipline has stood me in good stead!My love for dancing really developed during my disco years where my friends would have to drag me off the dance floor to go home. When line dancing became popular over here I thought Yep! - that's for me, no more ballet tutus but jeans and cowboy boots and dancing in a social atmosphere. After a few sessions I was approached by a local dance organisation and asked if I would like to train as a teacher. This sounded good to me. From that point I have never stopped learning and enjoying sharing new dance information, music and styles with others, a feature that unites line dancers where ever they may be in the world.

This year at the `Line Dance Crystal Boot Awards’ held in Blackpool I was overwhelmed to find that I had won `Dance Personality (Female) of the Year 2008’ I enjoy the work I do in the Line dance world and hope to bring joy to the international dance floor...

Kate Sala has choreographed 523 dances, of which 203 have been co-choreographed. Their first published stepsheet on CopperKnob is Killing Me Softly from October 2007, with their most recent stepsheet of Front Door Famous in June 2024.

Additionally, Kate Sala had a CopperKnob no.1 dance in November 2023 with Around the Fire, and has recently had 2 other dances in the top 10.
