Graduated from East Tennessee State in Johnson City, TN (1966) with a B.A. in Education. M.A. in Guidance from Stetson University, Deland, FL (1971).
Married B. Craig Johnson (aka "Dusty Miller") on December 28, 1982 in the only full formal wedding that had ever been held in the lakeside community of Ten Mile, Tennessee where her mother and father were living. Although she never gave birth to a child of her own, Gloria raised Dusty's daughter by a previous marriage as her own from the age of seven. To this young lady she is "Mom" and her daughter Cheyenne is Gloria's grandbaby.
Gloria's first dance was the Daytona Slide for Hank Williams Jr. "Daytona Nights" in January of 1995. Since then has choreographed a total of over 100 dances, a number of them at the express request of either the recording artist or the record label. She is one of only a few choreographers who have ever been paid by a major record label (MCG/Curb Records) to write a dance and produce the dance instruction video (Thump for the Smokin' Armadillos "Thump Factor").
Gloria Johnson has choreographed 126 dances, of which 12 have been co-choreographed. Their first published stepsheet on CopperKnob is Kimber's Twist from October 2007, with their most recent stepsheet of Crazy, Too in May 2015.
